65 acres

“The Douthit Hills area will be undergoing significant changes over the next several years, and this planning process will create a framework on which to base future efforts,” Campus Master Planner Gerald Vander Mey.

Anish Kumar was a member of the Pazdan-Smith Group and Hillier Architecture team that was retained by Clemson University to lead a planning meeting regarding the future use of the land formerly used for the Douthit Hills family housing complex. The public was invited to attend two open forums during the three-day working meeting.

The process was designed to gather a wide variety of views and input from members of the university and Clemson communities to understand the needs, priorities and possibilities for the site, with respect to the university and the city. The site is located between the Clemson House and U.S. 76 and fronts S.C. 93.

The team worked on site to explore alternatives for the property and presented ideas for consideration by university leadership at the end of the planning process.
